Oh, by the way…

Military officials said an Army soldier died Saturday when a roadside bomb hit his convoy near Baghdad. The attack raises to 70 the number of U.S. troops who have died in Iraq during April.

On Friday, officials at The Pentagon said that the American death toll in Iraq since the start of the war has topped 2,400.

And the President is “warning” that the violence may escalate:

With April the deadliest month for U.S. forces in Iraq this year, President George W. Bush warned Saturday of more tough fighting to come.

Even if the violence stays at this level, by the end of this year, there will be about the same number of Americans who died on 9/11 as died in this horrible war that the White House lied the country into.
