Oh brother. FOX news says that the “liberal media” is out to say bad things about the economy.
I beg to differ. I think the facts are out to say bad things abou the economy.

Even though the President agrees with the American people on Immigration (who take it a step further, in that they want Immigrants to have a chance to become citizens), the President’s poll ratings are going even lower. 37% from TIME (last week, TIME put the President at 39%).

Okay, I personally find this hillarious. You might not see any humor in it. But here it is. The Columbia Journalism Review Blog quoted me when I was being pushy and telling everyone to go see that Logan CNN clip where she was explaining the dangers of reporting from Iraq.

… The Daily Background was also […]

by Arlen Parsa

The Nation’s blog The Notion has begun a series called Reconstruction Corruption Watch. It’s aims are something I’ve been writing about a great deal here; that being the blatant over-charging and wastes of tax money paid to private contractors to do work in Iraq which could either be done cheaper by the military or Iraqi […]

Wow, the Republican-dominated House Intelligence Committee sure has been acting like assholes lately. Associated Press reports:

The House Intelligence Committee on Thursday rejected a proposal to withhold money from the National Security Agency if the White House did not reveal information about the cost of the agency’s warrantless surveillance program.
In a session closed to reporters, only […]

The Senate is having NSA hearings today, headed by Specter. I don’t know if C-Span has live video or what, but it’s probably worth checking out their website. Apparently former Nixon aide John Dean is going to be there. There’s liveblogging of the hearings over at DKos. I wouldn’t be surprised if Glenn had a […]

I’ve spent a good deal of time bashing private contractors in the past. And I do know that in some cases, hiring private firms by the government to do certain, specific work, is unavoidable. However, this Administration is so eager to contract every single thing out: everything from supplying toaster ovens (which ended up costing […]
