Mr Bush told the Mr Blair that the US was so worried about the failure to find hard evidence against Saddam that it thought of “flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft planes with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in UN colours”. Mr Bush added: “If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach [of UN resolutions]”.

Mr Bush told the prime minister that he “thought it unlikely that there would be internecine warfare between the different religious and ethnic groups”

What the hell is that? Supposedly the contents of a top-secret memo, leaked to the British press about a 2003 meeting between the Prime Minister and the President.

Did the two of them consider a hoax to bring the U.N. into the conflict by disguising a fired-upon U.S. plane as belonging to the U.N.?

Did the President really expect that there would be no violence after Hussein was thrown from power? Well that certainly would explain the dramatic lack of post-war planning which has become obvious to the world in the last two years.

The British newspaper The Guardian and the British Channel 4 are reporting on this.
