Time to bring out the tear-gushers. Military is good, military this, military that. Support the military, support the troops, support this, support that. On and on and on and on. Here we go.

Marine Staff Sergeant Dan Clay was killed last month fighting the enemy in Fallujah. He left behind a letter to his family, but his words could just as well be addressed to every American.

Let’s read a letter that a soldier who died wrote before he was killed in combat. Yeah that’s a winner.

Let’s say the names of the family, and note that they’re in the audience. Wow, they’re getting longer applause than the President has gotten thus far. From walking in, and everything. Holy shit, still going on. That’s easily 30 seconds of solid applause. The President looks like he’s waiting to talk again.

Never forget the sacrifices, more applause.
