The President’s Upcoming ‘Healthy’ State of the Union
by Arlen Parsa
I’ve been reading lately (just as you probably have) about what this year’s State of the Union speech that the President will make is going to be about. Since the latest ‘issue’ is medicare reform, many are speculating that health care will be a primary subject of the annual mega-speech. You can read my thoughts on the recent medicare reforms that Republicans have been rallying around (and what’s wrong with them) here.
In that entry, I cited MedBillAdvisor (an organization dedicated to helping people understand health care as it relates to them) discussing many of the problems with the plan. But I’m just a citizen. Why not read what a health care professional thinks on the President’s upcoming State of the Union speech topic? Too bad we don’t have a readily available source.
Oh wait. Here we go– AmberJane (a surgeon) writes on the subject over at TPM Cafe. Go ahead and read it. Interesting to hear from a professional perspective.
On a related subject, master of debunkery blog ThinkProgress has an entry out entitled “ Administration Caught In Lie About Medicare” which is worth a read.
The Daily Background

Great blog I hope we can work to build a better health care system as we are in a major crisis and health insurance is a major aspect to many.
