Today, Senator Kerry made it public that he wants to filibuster Alito.

You might also remember that Senator Lieberman said he would be open to a filibuster a while back. I first blogged about it here, and speculated that he was only doing it to appease his liberal state, when he didn’t think a filibuster was likely. Meanwhile, my blogmate Dylan Matthews weighed in himself about Lieberman’s choice.

Meanwhile, Kos of DailyKos has written up a rather interesting post on the math of a possible filibuster. You know- the numbers on senators needed. Go read.

Update: Senator Kerry has written a brief post explaining his reasons for wanting a filibuster here.
