Quick update on a big news day. As usual, the bloggers are way ahead of conventional print media.

As is now known, the President lied repeatedly about how wiretaps still required court approval. Blogs had this story early tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, this angle won’t break until tomorrow in the manstream media, as evidenced by this solitary Wednesday morning AFP article. We’ll see how much play this angle ends up getting in the MSM…

In the meantime however, the good news is that Dean has made a public statement regarding Bush’s lies:

“The Bush Administration’s secret program to spy on the American people reminds Americans of the abuse of power during the dark days of President Nixon and Vice President Agnew. Why is it that President Bush went in front of the American people and said that a wiretap ‘requires a court order,’ after having approved a wiretap program without a court order two years earlier? It’s time for the President to tell the truth. Americans deserve real answers.”
